LILIAM DOMINGUEZ

Liliam Dominguez b. 1976, Cuba, Liliam Dominguez, visual artist and art educator, currently resides in Miami Florida with her son and two cats. She has been an Adjunct Professor in the Photography Departments at the University of Miami, Barry University, Miami International University, Miami Dade College, and Florida Atlantic University, and also in the Department of Education at Barry University. In 1994, she graduated from San Alejandro in her native city of Havana, Cuba. Between 1994 and 1995 she studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte and shortly after emigrated to the U.S.  Educated at the University of Florida (New World School of the Arts), and at the University of Miami, she has over ten years of experience teaching art in higher education and in the K-12 setting.

As a practicing artist, he has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in public and commercial galleries and art work (oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media, and photography) in public and private collections. She has also curated a number of exhibitions for public art galleries and written essays for exhibition catalogues.

Liliam Dominguez has delivered lectures and workshops to art and education groups at the local and international levels and has presented at Education and Research conferences with the topic of creativity and identity of the artist/teacher.
